What is a soulmate reading?

A soulmate reading is a reading about love that focuses on a future partner or on whether a current partner is the right one. The reader may use tarot cards, astrology, numerology or their own intuition. It comes in two forms: a live session by phone, chat or video where you ask your own questions, or a written reading that is prepared and sent to you.

Readings like these are common. In a Pew Research Center survey of 9,593 US adults, 30% said they consult astrology, tarot cards or a fortune teller at least once a year. Most of them said they do it mainly for fun. One in ten adults said they do it mainly because it gives them helpful insights.

How much does each one cost?

Live readings are usually priced by the minute, so the total depends on how long you talk. When we checked on October 11, 2026, California Psychics listed advisor rates of $5 to $23 per minute, with a lower introductory offer for new customers. At those listed rates, a 20 minute call comes to $100 to $460.

Sketch services usually charge one price for the whole order. Which questions does each format answer?

• A live reading suits open questions that you want to talk through, such as what you should look for in a partner or what is holding you back. You steer the conversation.
• A sketch answers one question: what might this person look like? It gives you a face to react to.
• A written reading that comes with a sketch describes the person in the portrait. It is written from your order answers, so you cannot ask follow up questions.

Is a reading or a sketch more accurate?
